Creative Operations | Automation
Transforming manual workflows into automated systems that save time and money while increasing efficiency and brand quality.

Context
St. Elizabeth Healthcare grew from 1,500 to more than 10,000 associates, creating a dramatic increase in demand for marketing support. As the organization expanded, the Marketing department was being pulled in many directions and expected to deliver more with the same number of FTEs. Business cards were a major operational burden. The original process was fully manual, involving six people (five internal) plus frequent freelance support, averaging 12.2 paid labor hours per card across multiple rounds of communication, proofing, and approval. The workflow was no longer sustainable as volume increased and organizational needs accelerated.
Action
I identified an opportunity to free up time, improve efficiency, and reduce costs while still providing necessary support by creating a self‑service business card generator website. The platform automated design, proofing, and approval, replacing the manual workflow entirely. Each approved submission was routed directly into the print vendors’ production queue, streamlining their intake process and accelerating delivery. The system standardized brand execution, reduced operational burden on Marketing, and created a scalable model capable of supporting continued organizational growth.
Key Decisions
Why automate instead of expanding the team?
Hiring more people would have increased cost without fixing the workflow. Automation removed the bottleneck, scaled instantly, and freed staff for higher‑value work.
Result
Delivered systemwide efficiency, scalability, and consistent brand alignment while freeing Marketing capacity for higher‑value strategic work.
